Angelique Zuluaga as Pascuala, Andrew Richards as Mingo and Jeremy Woodard as Escudero, accompanied by an ensemble of recorders, winds and lute, and with stage direction by Marda Rose.

This production is in partnership with Early Music In Motion, in collaboration with the Anima e Corpo ensemble and its director Cinthia Alireti, and is sponsored in part by the Program for Cultural Cooperation between Spain’s Ministry of Culture and United States’ Universities.


Fénix De Los Ingenios performed on October 16h, 2009 at the Toby theater as part of the “Sacred Spain” exhibition offered at the Indianapolis Museum of Art.

The “Program for cultural cooperation between Spain’s Ministry of Culture and United States’ Universities” has awarded Fénix a grant to present Juan Del Encina’s Eglogue: “In Pursuit Of A Love Affair” with staging and music.

Fénix recently performed at the 2009 Bloomington Early Music Festival with “Vesper to our Lady of Pilar," an American premiere of the Spanish Baroque composer Joseph Ruiz Samaniego. Excerpts of this concert were featured on Harmonia Early Music this past September. Click here to listen.
